I often encounter self-professed book lovers who are very anti-kindle.  Something about the way a book feels in your hands, the way it smells, the way the spine creaks as you open it further and further.  I get all of that. I was anti-kindle for those reasons, as well as just in general being anti-(expensive)-stuff.  But I usually am left feeling like less of a book lover, or not a true purist when it comes to books by these folks. : )  I received a Kindle Fire for Christmas, and have to say, I am loving it!  While I do love to hold a book in my hands, the Kindle Fire does not feel all that different from a book when in a cover. What I love about it is I am reading more than I ever have.  It has such wonderful free books that I would never have had access to otherwise.  I have a Jane Austen collection on mine that includes all her writings, including the incomplete ones, that I've never even heard of.
